CIAA moves special court against seven including APF ex chief Basnet

Kathmandu, 1 March: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a lawsuit in a corruption case against seven Armed Police Force (APF) personnel including former Inspector General of Armed Police Force Sanat Kumar Basnet.
Police Inspectors Bin Bahadur Thapa, Manuhira Mahat and Shiva Bahadur Adhikari, Sub Inspectors Devendra Kumar Shrestha, Nil Bahadur Shrestha and Lekh Bahadur Khatri have been indicted of misappropriating Rs 90.15 million in the transport of goods for the APF, CIAA's Spokesperson Krishnahari Puskar said.
Basnet was the APF Chief from 2009 to 2011. The CIAA has sought maximum punishment against the accused as per the Corruption Prevention Act.
