  • Boy killed in tusker attack

    Parsa, August 10: A child was killed after being attacked by a wild elephant at Subarnapur rural municipality in the district today morning.

    The elephant strayed from nearby forest into the village at around 3:30 am, destroyed the house of local resident Ram Kumar Praja and attacked and stamped Praja's 11-year-old son Rijan to death after dragging him around 25 away towards the forest, police said.

    Rijan's body has been kept in Birgunj-based Narayani Sub Regional Hospital for a post-mortem examination.  

    Likewise, a seven-year-old child died after being drowned in a pit at Chhipaharmai in the district today morning. Rupesh, son of local resident Jokhan Sah, fell into the pit on the premises of his house while playing, police said. RSS
